Sheridan High School's Texas Tanner will be enrolling at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in the fall so, in addition to all the duties of being a cadet, he'll be competing for the Falcon track and field program. Tanner placed 5th in the shot-put at the 2021 State Track Meet in Casper back in May with a toss of 50 feet 7 inches. He also made the discus throw event at the state meet but did not have a qualified distance.

Tanner also made his presence felt on the football field as he had 4 carries for 72 yards on offense and 3 tackles on defense as the Broncs won the 4A State Championship over Rock Springs. For the season, he had 34 carries for 266 yards and 3 TDs with 41 tackles on offense, including 5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss.

In addition to those two sports, Tanner competed at the Boys State Swimming and Diving Meet and placed 8th in the 1-meter diving event with 303.5 points.

The Air Force men's track team took 2nd at last year's Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships.
