The Burns Broncs 4x400-meter relay team of Hunter Munson, Zach Austin, Zane Howes, and Shaw Martin starred among the Wyoming contingent of athletes at last weekend’s Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, OR. The Broncs finished first in the Emerging Elite Division of the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:24.07. That was one of several notable performances at the big track meet that also included the USA Track and Field U20 Championships.

Wright’s Mili Meza Perdomo placed in the top eight of two events. She took second place in the Emerging Elite Division of the 400-meter hurdles at 1:03.88. Perdomo added an eighth-place effort in the Emerging Elite high jump at 5-3. Mili also ran in the 100-meter hurdle Championship Division prelims, but did not qualify for the finals, and was in the Emerging Elite girls’ long jump.

Natrona County’s girls 4x400-meter relay was second in the Championship Division at 3:56.33. The team was comprised of Madison Zeller, Ardin Smith, Sara Lester, and Emeryson McNamee.

The Sheridan boys’ 1600 SMR placed third in the Championship Division with a time of 3:30.88. That team was Matt Brown, Gabe Perkins, Adam Frey, and Ryder Charest.

Thunder Basin’s Mason Kimberling took third place in the Emerging Elite shot put. His best throw was 57-00.25.

Jackson’s girls’ 1600 SMR took fourth in the Emerging Elite race at 4:26.20. Lander's Paisley Hollingshead turned in another fourth-place finish. That came in the Emerging Elite 100-meter hurdles at 14.84 seconds. She added an 18th-place effort in the same division (Emerging Elite) of the long jump at 17-5.25.

Derrick Murphy Jr. from Cheyenne East placed seventh in the Championship high jump. His best leap was 6-8.75.

Lander’s Adelyn Anderson finished seventh in the Women’s Discus U20 competition. She threw 153-09. In the Championship discus, Anderson was 11th at 147-01, and she took 14th in the Championship shot put at 44-9.75.

Two girls’ relay squads came in ninth place. That was Natrona County’s 1600-meter SMR in the Championship Division and Jackson’s 4x400 relay in the Emerging Elite Division. The boys’ 1600 Sprint Medley Relay from Wright finished ninth.

NC’s Emeryson McNamee was 10th in the 400-meter Emerging Elite race at 57.49 seconds.

Some distance runners were involved in multiple races. Cheyenne Central’s Adalyn Racines ran in six events. She took 12th place in two Emerging Elite Enroute races, the 1500- and 1600-meters, and the 1-mile Emerging Elite Division. She also competed in the 2-mile Emerging Elite and the 3000 and 3200 meters Emerging Elite Enroute. Cheyenne East’s Maggie Madsen placed just outside the top 20 in three events. Those were the 2-mile Championship Division race and the 3000- and 3200-meter Championship Enroute Division. Burlington’s Kellen Winters placed 10th in the 1500 meters Freshman Enroute Division at 4:09.62. He took 12th in two other races, the 1600-meter Freshman Enroute and Freshman 1 Mile.

Wyoming athletes turned in a few other top 20 efforts. Powell’s Paige Sanders was 11th in the Emerging Elite triple jump at 36-8.50. Laramie’s Brynlee Enevoldsen came in 16th in the Emerging Elite pole vault at 10-07. Juliana Jeffrey from Cheyenne East took 17th in the Championship Division discus at 144-07. Finally, Braylon Gifford of Natrona County finished 18th in the Championship triple jump at 46-00.

Several other Wyoming athletes were part of the competition. That even included some middle schoolers from the Cowboy State, but we’ll cover them when they get to the high school ranks. Nike Outdoor Nationals was June 18-22, 2026, at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, OR.
