PhotoFest! Shoshoni Captures a #1 Seed in 9-Man Football Playoffs
Shoshoni wrapped up the 1A 9-Man football regular season with 4 straight wins and earned the #1 seed from the West with a 6-2 record overall and 4-1 in conference play. The Wranglers defeated defending 9-Man State Champion Big Piney on the road 24-8 on Saturday and got that #1 seed by winning the points tiebreaker.
Shoshoni has received an all-star season from Carson Kisling, the team's leading tackler, and tops the 9-Man group in tackles by a considerable margin. He's also the Wrangler's #1 running back, who entered the last week of the regular season with over 800 yards rushing and 7 touchdowns. Quarterback Braxton Mills has been completing 60% of his passes, and Quinton Clark has been reliable at receiver.
Big Piney's Caden Clifford is 9-Man's leading rusher and entering Saturday's game, was averaging 191 yards a game on the ground. The Punchers were ranked #2 in rushing offense in 9-Man football and #3 offense overall.
Shoshoni will be at home for their quarterfinal round playoff game on Friday afternoon vs. Saratoga. Big Piney is the #2 seed from the West and go that spot with winning the head to head tie breaker with Greybull. The Punchers will host Southeast on Saturday.
