Laramie hosted the No. 3 Sheridan Broncs in the second Class 4A East Conference match for both boys’ teams last Saturday. Both teams had chances, but neither one put a ball in the back of the goal, and it resulted in a 0-0 tie. The Plainsmen had five shots on goal, but the Broncs’ Eli Negron saved them all. The Broncs put one shot on goal and posted 12 total shots in the match. Wyatt Cotterman of LHS made one save.

For Laramie, that was their second straight scoreless tie in conference play. They are 2-0-2 on the season and 0-0-2 in league action. The third-ranked Sheridan went to 2-0-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in the 4A East.

WyoPreps caught up with some veterans on both teams. Sheridan’s Ty Gilbertson, Karson Chase, and Evan Ballew discussed the match, how they played on the back line, midfield, and up top, and areas to improve.

Paulo Mellizo and Kai Boyer from the Plainsmen also visited with WyoPreps. The seniors touched on how they played in the match, the different parts of their lineup, their defensive focus, and more.

We also have some photos from the match. Enjoy!
