Lyman’s Karly Sabey Chooses Gillette College for Soccer
Lyman senior midfielder Karly Sabey is pursuing her dream of playing soccer at the collegiate level after signing earlier this month at Gillette College. Karly is a three-year letter-winner, a two-time all-conference selection, and an all-state choice in 2024. Sabey was among the top three goal scorers in Class 3A during the 2024 season. She holds the school record for goals scored in a single season with 23 goals last spring. Karly has topped her school record each of the past three years.
Sabey has played with several top Wyoming club teams including the Gilette Edge, Rock Springs Avengers, and the elite Wyoming 307 club. She was also scouted and recruited to represent Wyoming on the U19 YPL Pursuit, a national-level team. Sabey helped the YPL squad to the championship match at a tournament in Denmark, where they competed against other teams from across Europe.
She will finish her prep career with the Eagles during the spring 2025 high school season, which starts in March.
Sabey also ran cross-country and wrestled at Lyman High School. She chose Gillette College over several other schools around the country.
Gillette College in Gillette, WY, recently brought back women’s soccer. The Pronghorns finished the 2024 season at 7-7. They compete in Region IX at the NJCAA Division I level.
