Campbell County senior Lanae Kimbley has signed to play softball in college at Minot State University in North Dakota. Kimbley is a three-time all-state and all-conference selection for the Camels and will play her senior season this spring. She helped them win the East Conference with an 11-1 record in 2024. Campbell County finished with an overall record of 21-10 last spring and a third-place finish at the state tournament.

Kimbley was one of the top hitters in the state in the 2024 season. She had a .583 batting average, which was sixth in the state. Kimbley had 49 hits, drove in 40 runs, and scored 65 times. She showed her power with seven home runs and 14 more extra-base hits. Kimbley stole 30 bases, which was good for second in the state. Lanae drew 22 walks and only struck out seven times. Her on-base percentage was .602.

In her sophomore season (2023), Kimbley hit .576 with 49 total hits and 39 RBIs. As a freshman in 2022, Lanae had a .468 batting average. She finished with 37 hits and 27 RBIs. The Camels took third in both of those seasons.

Minot State University is in Minot, ND. The Beavers compete at the NCAA Division II level and are members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
