The St. Stephens girls basketball squad started out the season with 21 consecutive wins so that's beyond impressive. They entered the 1A State Tournament as the #2 seed from the west and ended up taking 3rd place in the tourney. In the opening round, the Eagles used a great 4th quarter to edge Hanna 46-43 in a game where St. Stephens trailed by as many as 11 points. Martina Brown was sensational with 23 points and 7 rebounds. The opposite was true in the 1A semi-finals as the Eagles struggled mightily in the 4th quarter and lost to Arvada-Clearmont 52-41. Laura Brown led the way with 14 points and 9 rebounds. But St. Stephens ended the season on a high note thanks to a 52-41 win over Farson. Martina Brown was the Eagles leading scorer with 11 while Laura Brown and Josette Oldman threw in 10 apiece. Martina Brown earned all state status thanks to averaging 15 points a game. Laura Brown was a double digit scorer throwing in 11 per contest. The Eagles had a fairly large senior class and will certainly miss Martina Brown but Laura Brown and Orelia Wawa Lawson return which should make the Eagles tough again,
