Every second counts in distance and the 4A Girls team championship at the State Cross Country Meet in Cheyenne came down to a few clicks of the clock, here and there. Cheyenne Central prevailed over Natrona 68-69 to win the 4A State Championship which made for a compelling race. Both schools placed 2 runners in the top 10 and each school had a runner in the top 5. Needless to say, it was very close and it the title came down to every scoring runner.

Individually, Cheyenne East sophomore Maggie Madsen pulled away from the defending 4A Champion Madison Antonino of Jackson to win the 4A Crown. Madsen, who took 4th at last year's State Meet ran 18:26.4 to set the Little America course record. She has been solid all year and beat a very talented field. Antonino ran 18:49.99 with Thunder Basin's Carlee Roth 3rd. Roth made significant progress after a 19th-place finish at State in 2023. Natrona's Ally Wheeler who was the 4A runner-up a year ago was 4th and Central's Sofia Rose was 5th. Rose took 11th at last year's state meet.
