State Wrestling 126 LB Championships 2-29-20 [VIDEO]
The 4A 126 pound championship match was a re-match of last year's 4A semi-final at 120 pounds as Green River's Kade Flores met Hunter Goodwin of Sheridan. This match wasn't decided until the final seconds as Flores secured a two-point takedown to win the Wolves 4th state title of the tournament. The final was 3-2 as Flores finished the season at 32-9. For Goodwin, this is back to back 2nd place finishes at State and wrapped up the season with 40 wins and 14 losses.
Pinedale had a very strong showing in 3A thanks to Cody Phelps who repeated as state champion with a 10-2 major decision over Winston Green of Star Valley. Phelps won it all last year at 113 and beat Green in last year's semis. Phelps ended this year with an outstanding record of 40-2 with Green concluding the campaign.
Over in 2A Lovell's Quinton Hecker outlasted Preston Seamands of Wright 5-2 for his first state title. Hecker made the 126-pound semi-finals last season and Seamonds took 2nd place at 120 pounds. This wasn't an easy match by any stretch as Hecker concludes his prep career at 29-4. Seamands is also a senior and wraps things up at 37-10
