Star Valley won the 3A team title for the 5th straight year and 285 pounder Parker Merritt did his part. He repeated as the 285 state champion with a pin of Hunter Pope of Buffalo at 1:29. Merritt was a big factor in the Braves state championship football team and went 38-0 on the mat this season. He's an incredible athlete, to say the least. Pope went 42-6 so he had an excellent season as well

In 2A Coy Trainor of Lovell returned to championship form with a pin of Will Baker from Southeast at 3:38. A year ago, Trainor placed 3rd at 220 pounds but won the state championship in this weight class in 2018. He completed the year with a mark of 22-8. Baker was the bronze medalist at 285 in 2A last season and went 30-7 this year.

AJ Kelly of Rock Springs outlasted Dalton McInerney of Thunder Basin 7-6 to win the 4A heavyweight title. It was a rough and tumble match but Kelly prevailed to end the season at 35-4. It was the 2nd straight year that McInerney took 2nd place at state in this weight class. He wrapped up the year at 41-3.
