Rawlins distance runner extraordinaire Sidney Thorvaldson ran 16.40.6 to win the Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Littleton, CO.

Her time set the meet record by nearly 4 seconds and is the 13th-best time by a high schooler this season.

Thorvaldson, who is a junior is the two-time Class 3A state champion in cross country. She set the state record last season with a time of 17.34.68. Thorvaldson is also the two-time Class 3A state champion in the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter runs in track and field. She holds the Class 3A state record in the 1600 and the 3200 meters.
