Thunder Basin Climbs to the Top of 4A Boys Soccer [VIDEOS]
For the first time in school history, the Thunder Basin Bolts are boys' 4A soccer state champions.
The Bolts captured the crown last Saturday in Rock Springs with a 1-0 victory over Cheyenne Central.
Angel Ontiveros scored the only goal of the match in the 26th minute of action, and the Thunder Basin defense helped it stand up.
WyoPreps spoke to seniors Saber Sessions and Ontiveros about the first title, what it took, adjustments they made in the season, and more, in the video above.
We also touched base with head coach Saber Garcia after the momentous occasion.
Thunder Basin had finished runner-up in two previous trips to the title. Those came in 2019 and 2021. This time the Bolts had a breakthrough and took home the top trophy.
