Thunder Basin hasn't been in existence for very long and it didn't take very long for the girl's basketball team to win a state championship. The Bolts won all the marbles in 2018-19 compiling a 23-4 record. They had some serious talent with Maddie Miller achieving all-state status thanks to averaging 11 points a game. Meadow Kuntz was an all-state pick as well with Jersie Taylor averaging 12 points a game and played in only 16 games due to injury. Thunder Basin did all this with just 3 seniors and Miller was one of them. In the 4A  quarterfinal round of the state tournament, Thunder Basin defeated Green River 65-49 as Taylor threw in 11. The Bolts were a remarkable 20-26 from the free-throw line. In the semi-finals, Thunder Basin dominated Star Valley 66-42 in a game where the Bolts led by as many as 24. Taylor had 11, Molly Strub had 10 and Maddie Miller also had 10. The 4A title games as a battle of the giants as Thunder Basin prevailed over Cheyenne East 70-58. The Bolts were 20-29 from the charity stripe and were led by Miller with 15 and Taylor with 14. Shelby Tarter had 10. This was a great effort by a program that was just in year 2, with a very bright future.
