Tongue River Enters 2A Postseason with Momentum
The Tongue River Eagles have enjoyed their best season in football in recent memory at 8-1 following a 41-0 home win over Wheatland on Friday. The Eagles are the #2 seed in the 2A East and their lone loss came to their rival Big Horn. Tongue River last made the playoffs back in 2016 and will be attempting to win their first state championship since 1974. The Eagles will host Cokeville in the first round of the 2A playoffs at 4 pm on Friday.
It was a rough season for Wheatland at 2-7 so the Bulldogs did not qualify for the postseason tournament. Prior to this year, Wheatland made 10 straight appearances in the playoffs and lost more games this year than the 2 previous seasons combined. The Bulldogs' 2 wins this season were over Torrington and Glenrock.
