North Dominates 55-0, Sets Record in 53rd Wyoming Shrine Bowl [VIDEO, PHOTOS]
Thanks to big plays and turnovers, the North dominated the South, 55-0, in the 53rd annual Wyoming Shrine Bowl All-Star football game last Saturday in Casper at Natrona County High School. The North set the new record for the largest margin of victory in the series and was one point away from tying the most points scored in a game.

After the North was stopped on the first series of the game, they recovered a fumble on the punt, and then Coulter Lang found Garrett Breuer on a 25-yard TD pass. The South tried to answer, but their drive was halted on an interception by James Ihnat. The North took a 14-0 lead on a 34-yard TD pass from Hadley Hudson to Breck Reed. Early in the second quarter, Lang found Reed from 26 yards out, and despite a blocked kick on the PAT, the North led 20-0. Midway through the second, Kanai Olsen found Clay Sheets on a 14-yard TD pass, which made it 27-0. One bright spot for the South squad was an interception by Santiago Cruz of Rock Springs off Olsen that thwarted a drive by the North. It was 27-0 at halftime.
The second half started with a punt by the South. The North drove down the field and took a 34-0 lead on a Lang to Breuer 18-yard TD pass. Another interception by the North team set up Lang’s 9-yard TD run and a 41-0 lead. A fourth-down stop at their own 19-yard line gave the ball back to the North. Olsen added an 81-yard TD run, and Hudson picked off a pass and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown on the ensuing South possession. That was the final score, 55-0.
Campbell County quarterback Coulter Lang accounted for 155 yards of total offense and four TDs. He was named the game’s Offensive MVP. Lang went 8-13 passing for 102 yards and three touchdowns. He added seven rushes for 41 yards and a score. Coulter even caught one pass for 12 yards.
The Defensive MVP honor went to James Ihnat from Buffalo. He made four tackles, had two pass breakups, and two interceptions.
WyoPreps caught up with the two MVPs on Tuesday (6-16-26) to discuss the game, their play, earning MVP awards, and more in the video at the top of the story.
