The Torrington Tigers are fielding a young team this year so development is the name of the game. At times, growth can look great, and other times, it can be a bit painful. Torrington does have some talent, there's no doubt about that. It's just a matter of more consistent play.

On Friday at the Bolln Tournament in Douglas, the Tigers were shut out by the Douglas Cats 8-0. They managed just 3 hits and made 4 errors but the squad bounced back nicely with a 9-5 win over Green River on Saturday. Pitcher Caeden Riley was solid on the mound with 12 strikeouts and Jacob Russell homered and drove in 2 runs.

Torrington wrapped play in the tournament with a 9-2 loss to Wheatland as they managed just 4 hits and made 3 errors. The time is now for the Tigers with the district tournament upon us and the state tournament next week in Cheyenne.

We had a chance to chat with Tiger players Jackson Jones and Caeden Riley after Saturday's win over Green River.
