Wyoming High School Indoor Track Scoreboard: Feb. 2-3, 2024

Week 4 of the Wyoming High School Indoor Track season features two track meets. One is in-state, and the other is out-of-state. Many teams are heading to Gillette for a Friday state preview meet hosted by Thunder Basin. Some schools are heading to Utah for a two-day meet, where field events and a few track events are on Friday. The rest of the track events are on Saturday.

Friday, Feb. 2:

Basin Nation Track Meet at the Campbell County Recreation Center Fieldhouse in Gillette: Field Events start at 9 a.m. & Track Events start at 10 & are on a rolling schedule

Teams Attending: Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Cody, Douglas, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Lovell, Natrona County, Newcastle, Powell, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Torrington, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Worland.

Saige Gustafson of NC won the girls' 55-meter and 200-meter races. Maggie Madsen from Cheyenne East won the girls' 800-meter and 3200-meter races. 

Thunder Basin's Bradley Ekstrom swept the 200-meter and 400-meter races in the boys' division.

Cody swept the sprint medley relays. Thunder Basin swept the 4x200 relays.

2024 UCCTCA Indoor Invitational at Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns, UT: Field & Track Events start at 4 p.m. (no high jump)

Teams Attending: Evanston, Lander, Mountain View, Pinedale, Riverton, Rock Springs, Star Valley.

Star Valley's Valerie Jirak won the long jump at 19-2.75 and finished 4th in the 400 meters. Evanston's Kiara Worthing and Celeste Swensen took 2nd and 3rd in the triple jump. Mountain View's Jaylee Antonino was 4th in the triple jump.

Evanston's Gabe Hutchison was 4th in the boys' 400 meters. Evanston's Treyton Weidrich placed 3rd in the triple jump.

In the team standings, Star Valley is 4th in the girls' division through 6 events, while Evanston is 3rd in the boys' division.

Saturday, Feb. 3:

2024 UCCTCA Indoor Invitational at Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns, UT: Track Events only and start at 9 a.m.

Teams Attending: Evanston, Lander, Mountain View, Pinedale, Riverton, Rock Springs, Star Valley.

Star Valley finished 5th in the girls' division with 29 points. Evanston placed 5th in the boys' division with 32 points.

Mountain View's Jaylee Antonino won the 60-meter hurdles at 9.35 seconds. Valerie Jirak from Star Valley was 4th in the 200 meters. Madison Antonino of Pinedale placed 3rd in the 3200 meters. 

Habtamu Wetzel of Star Valley was 3rd in the 3200 meters.
