The fourth week of the 2024 high school outdoor track season in Wyoming is busy. This week features the most track meets on the schedule so far this season. Worland, Cheyenne, Rock Springs, Glenrock, Casper, and Greybull are slated to host in-state track meets on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. A few teams are going to Colorado or South Dakota for action. A select few athletes will compete with the best in the country at the Arcadia Invitational in California.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3:

STAR VALLEY QUAD in Afton at Star Valley HS – canceled

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 4:

D&D INVITATIONAL at Worland HS at 1:30 p.m. – Burlington, Cody, Greybull, Lovell, Meeteetse, Powell, Riverside, Shoshoni, Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Worland.

Worland's Kalistynn Crippen swept the 100 & 200 meters in the girls' division. Powell's Kinley Cooley won the 1600 & 3200 meters. Worland's Anna Richardson won both hurdle races. Worland also won 3 of the 4 relays.

In the boys' division, Powell's Caden Nelson swept the 100 & 200 meters. Worland's Noah Mitchell won both the hurdle races.

Girls Team Scores Worland 209.50, Powell 196, Lovell 55, Riverside 47, Thermopolis 45, Burlington 41, Cody 23.50, Shoshoni 7.50, Ten Sleep 6, Greybull 3.50.

OKIE BLANCHARD INVITE in Cheyenne at East HS at 9:30 a.m. – Burns, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, H.E.M., Laramie, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Southeast, Torrington, Wheatland.

East's Maggie Madsen won the 1600 & 2300 meters. Taliah Morris won the 100-meter & long jump. Jessica Hoffman of Pine Bluffs won the discus & tied for 1st in the high jump.

Wheatland's Tyler Bohnen won the 100 & 200 meters. Torrington's Tyler Bennick swept the throws.

TED SCHROEDER ‘MEET OF HOPE’ at Rock Springs HS at 9 a.m. – Big Piney, Encampment, Evanston, Farson-Eden, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Little Snake River, Lyman, Mountain View, Pinedale, Riverton, Rock Springs.

Jaylee Antonino of Mountain View was 1st in the 100 hurdles, high jump, & triple jump. Evanston's Talia Conrad won the 200 & 400 meters. Pinedale's Madison Antonino won the 1600 & 3200 meters. Teammate Katy Dexter swept the 2 throwing events.

Green River's Christopher Wilson swept the 2 hurdle races and won the long jump & triple jump. Evanston's Ayden Hartzell won the 100 & 200 meters for the boys. Riverton's Davian Spoonhunter won the 800 & 1600 meters. Encampment's Quade Jordan swept the 2 throws.

Jaden Meyer of Douglas won the 100 meters, 100 hurdles, & long jump. Tongue River's Grace Walker won the 1600 & 3200 meters. Davdine King won the 200 metes & high jump.

Seth Needham of Thermopolis swept the 100 & 200 meters. Jadeth Elder of Thermopolis won the 1600 & 3200 meters. Douglas won 3 of the 4 relays. Upton's Ethan Schiller won the long & triple jump. Tegen Seeds of Douglas won the 2 throwing events.

TROJAN INVITE in Casper at Kelly Walsh HS at 10 a.m. – Big Horn, Campbell County, Cody, Dubois, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Natrona County, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Wright.

Grace Miller from Thunder Basin won the 100 & 200 meters. Adelyn Anderson of Lander won the 2 throwing events.

Cody's Charlie Hulbert won the 800 & 1600 meters. Caleb Ortberg of Kelly Walsh swept the 2 hurdle races. Big Horn's Gavin Stafford won the 100 meters & long jump. 

Girls Team Scores = Thunder Basin 156, Kelly Walsh 128.90, Lander 121, Natrona County 88.70, Cody 82.70, Sheridan 55.70, Wright 20, Wyoming Indian 16, Dubois 11, Campbell County 1.

Out-of-State events:

ARCADIA INVITATIONAL in Arcadia, CA – athletes from these schools are competing – Cheyenne Central, Lander, Riverton, and Star Valley.

Valerie Jirak is 2nd in the women's heptathlon with 3,040 points.

Habtamu Wetzel finished 27th in the 3200-meter open division at 9:26.05.

QUEEN CITY CLASSIC in Spearfish, SD – Buffalo, Campbell County, Hulett, Moorcroft, Newcastle, Sheridan, Sundance.

Buffalo's Carly Norman won the 100 hurdles and long jump. Sheridan's Addie Pendergast won the 100 meters. Teammate Callista Roush won the triple jump. Lilly Charest of Sheridan won the pole vault. Sheridan won the 4x800 relay.

Sheridan's Chance Morris won the 200 meters. Teammate Aiden O'Leary won the 300 hurdles. Sheridan won the boys' 4x400 relay. Buffalo won the 4x800 relay. Campbell County's Raynor Ranum won the shot put. 

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 6:

BILL GERRARD MEMORIAL at Greybull HS at 10 a.m. – Greybull, Meeteetse, Riverside, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Wind River.

The track meet was canceled due to the weather.

Out-of-State events:

ARCADIA INVITATIONAL in Arcadia, CA – athletes from these schools are competing – Cheyenne Central, Lander, Riverton, and Star Valley.

Star Valley senior Valerie Jirak won the heptathlon with 4,920 points. She won the 800 meters and tied for first in the high jump & long jump. Jirak set school records in the 100 hurdles (2nd place - 14.56 seconds) and high jump (1.68m).

Central's Race Morrell was 8th in the Rising Stars division of the 1-mile race. Lander's Reed McFadden took 6th in the Seeded division of the 300-meter hurdles.

FRANK WOODBURN INVITATIONAL in Grand Junction, CO – Little Snake River.

LSR tied for 16th in the girls' division and was 15th in the boys' division.
