It is Week 6 of the Wyoming prep indoor track season. Teams and individuals are at either a prestigious national meet or on a competition hiatus. The 45th Simplot Games draw some of the top competitors from around the country to the ICCU Dome at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. Any high school athlete can enter one open running event, two relay events, and two field events, according to the Simplot Games registration information page. If an athlete wants to enter a second open running event, certain standards must be met and a waiver approved.

Twenty-six Wyoming schools will have a student-athlete competing at the Simplot Games this year.

This is the schedule for the sixth weekend of indoor track. Schedules are subject to change.

Thursday, Feb. 20:

Simplot Games in ICCU Dome at Idaho State University: Track Events start at 4:30 p.m. & Field Events begin at 5 p.m. – only finals in the Girls & Boys Weight Throw.

Schools With Athletes Competing: Big Horn, Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cody, Douglas, Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Lusk, Mountain View, Natrona County, Pinedale, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Star Valley, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Torrington, Wheatland, Worland.

Laramie's Kate Lewis and Green River's Lillian Allison placed 5th and 6th, respectively, in the girls' weight throw. Star Valley's Jase Burton took 1st in the 3200-meter prelims for the boys. Madison Antonino and Maggie Madsen were fourth and sixth in the girls' 3200-meter prelims. Wyoming had 5 of the top 9 qualifiers in the boys' 60-meter prelims led by Carter Lundberg of NC, who was 2nd. Wyoming had 4 of the top 9 qualifiers in the girls' 60-meter prelims with Gracie Miller of Thunder Basin in 4th.

Friday, Feb. 21:

Simplot Games in ICCU Dome at Idaho State University: Track Events start at 8:35 a.m. & Field Events begin at 9 a.m. – no Finals; only preliminary or qualifying events on this day.

Top 3 from Friday qualifying:

Sheridan boys had the fastest qualifying time in the 4x200 prelims and was second in the 4x400 prelims. The Natrona County girls' were second in the 4x400 prelims. Tegan Krause of Central and Chance Morris of Sheridan were the top two in the 200 prelims. Cherise Douzenis of Worland was second in the 200 girls' prelims. Ayden Hartzell of Evanston was runner-up in the 400 boys' prelims.

Saturday, Feb. 22:

Simplot Games in ICCU Dome at Idaho State University: Field Events Start at 8:30 a.m. & Track Events start at 8:45 a.m. – Event Finals all day.

Wyoming's contingent was highlighted by Landon Walker of Kelly Walsh winning the long jump and triple jump in Pocatello. His best leap in the LJ was 23-00.50, a personal best. In the triple jump, Walker went 47-8.50. That was also a personal best.

For the girls', Lainey Berryhill of Laramie won the 400 meters at 56.28 seconds. Lander's Adelyn Anderson placed first in the shot put at 45-06.

Chance Morris of Sheridan won the 200 meters at 21.52 seconds. Evanston's Ayden Hartzell won the 400 meters at 48.63 seconds.
