The final winter sport to make its high school debut in the 2025 season is indoor track. There are two in-state track meets and one out-of-state track meet. Teams are either competing in Casper at Natrona County High School, in Gillette at the Campbell County Recreation Center Fieldhouse, or heading to Pocatello, ID, for the Snake River Open. This begins a short eight-week indoor track season, which culminates in Gillette with the state championships, March 6-8, 2025, at the Campbell County Recreation Center Fieldhouse.

Here is the schedule for the first weekend of indoor track. Schedules are subject to change.

Saturday, Jan. 18:

Bronc-Bison Rust Buster Invitational in Gillette at the Campbell County Recreation Center Fieldhouse (hosted by Sheridan & Buffalo): Field Events start at 10 a.m.; Track Events begin at 10:30 a.m.

Teams Attending: Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Douglas, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Worland.

Girls Team Scores = Thunder Basin 139.50, Sheridan 126.50, Campbell County 90, Cody 65, Worland 60, Buffalo 27, Douglas 16.

Boys Team Scores = Sheridan 148, Cody 117, Thunder Basin 113, Campbell County 90, Worland 78, Buffalo 36, Douglas 23, Big Horn 10, Tongue River 5.

 

Natrona Invite from Natrona County HS MAC: Field Events start at 9 a.m.; Track Events begin at 10 a.m. & are on a rolling schedule

Teams Attending: Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Natrona County, Rawlins, Riverton, Torrington, Wheatland.

Snake River Open in Pocatello, ID, at Idaho State University: Field events start at 9 a.m.; Track events start at 9:30 a.m.

Teams Attending: Evanston, Green River, Mountain View, Pinedale, Rock Springs, Star Valley.

Alexis Angell of Star Valley won the 1600 meters at 5:34.26. Brynn Bider of Rock Springs won the long jump at 16-11.50. Lillian Allison from Green River won the shot put at 39-00.50. She took 2nd in the weight throw to teammate Amanda Davis, who took 1st at 38-6.

Jack Overbay from the Jackson Hole Running Club won the 800 meters at 2:00.68. Habtamu Wetzel of Star Valley won the 1600 meters at 4:30.14. Rock Springs took 2nd in the 4x400 meter relay.
