Welcome to Week 2 of the Wyoming High School outdoor track and field season. More teams will compete for the first time this year. The in-state track meets will be in Newcastle, Wheatland, Burlington, Pine Bluffs, Sheridan, and Rock Springs. A handful of schools will compete in either Colorado, Nebraska, or Utah.

Laramie girls won 8 events, while the Laramie boys captured 10 events.

FRIDAY, MARCH 28:

BURLINGTON HS INVITATIONAL at Burlington HS – Burlington, Greybull, Lovell, Powell, Riverside, Rocky Mountain, Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, Tongue River, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Wind River, Worland, Wyoming Indian.

Girls Team Scores = Worland 192, Powell 172, Tongue River 68.50, Riverside 30.50, Lovell 30, Burlington 29, Thermopolis 20.50, Wind River & Greybull (tied) 17, Rocky Mountain 12.50, Wyoming Indian 9, Ten Sleep 2.

Worland's Cherise Douzenis won the 200 & 400 meters. Anna Richardson of Worland won the 300 hurdles & high jump. Tongue River's Jeniah Lovingood won the long jump & shot put.

Boys Team Scores = Powell 146, Thermopolis 128.25, Lovell 101.75, Worland 88.25, Burlington 72.50, Tongue River 45, Ten Sleep 28, Wind River 11, Greybull 7.75, Riverside 7.50, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy 5, Rocky Mountain & Wyoming Indian (tied) 3.

Lovell's Gavin Robertson won the 100 meters, long jump & tied for first in the high jump. Worland's Trajn Swalstad won the 1600 & 3200 meters. Tongue River's Kaden Hill swept the hurdle races. Halen Strom of Lovell swept the throws.

PINE BLUFFS EARLY BIRD at Pine Bluffs HS – Burns, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Lusk, Pine Bluffs, Rock River, Southeast, Wright; out-of-state schools = Alliance, NE; Chadron, NE.

Girls Team Scores = Chadron 135, East 104.2, Central 97.7, Wright 80.2, Burns 75, Southeast 51.5, Alliance 40, Pine Bluffs 18.7, Lusk 12.7.

SHERIDAN QUAD at Sheridan HS – Buffalo, Campbell County, Sheridan, Thunder Basin.

Girls Team Scores = Sheridan 186.50, Thunder Basin 184.50, Buffalo 93, Campbell County 62.50, Big Horn 40.50.

Ashley Rogge of Thunder Basin swept the 2 hurdle races and won the high jump.

Boys Team Scores = Sheridan 216, Thunder Basin 175.50, Campbell County 83, Buffalo 53.50, Big Horn 40.

Sheridan's Chance Morris won the 100 & 200. Garrett Otto swept the 2 hurdle races. Campbell County's Raynor Ranum won both throwing events.

Out-of-State events:

BINFIELD INVITE at Scottsbluff, NE – Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Torrington.

Torrington's Brooklyn Ausmus swept the 100 & 200. Lingle's Brody Roberts won the boys' 200 & 400. 

JOHN GANSER INVITE at Sidney, NE – Cheyenne South.

Sarah Hedlum won the D1 1600. Trey Downham won the D1 200 & 300 hurdles.

STRATA INVITATIONAL at Union HS in Roosevelt, UT – Big Piney.

Big Piney girls placed 3rd at 85.50 team points. The BP boys took 6th with 24 points. Micah Strong from BP won the girls' 100 & 400 meters and 3rd in the 800 meters.

SATURDAY, MARCH 29:

TIGER QUAD MEET at Rock Springs HS – Green River, Lander, Lyman, Rock Springs.

Girls Team Scores = Rock Springs 188, Lander 176.50, Green River 130.50, Lyman 85.

Brynn Bider of Rock Springs won the 100, 200, the long jump & was on the winning 4x100 relay. Paisley Hollingshead of Lander swept the 2 hurdle races, won the high jump & was 2nd in the long jump. Adelyn Anderson of Lander won both throwing events.

Boys Team Scores = Rock Springs 241, Lander 205, Green River 81, Lyman 74.

Dalton Marincic of Rock Springs won the 100 & 200 meters. Jonas Slater of RS won the 110 hurdles and high jump. Dallin Bradshaw from Lyman won the triple jump and long jump.

Out-of-State events:

ALPHA INVITATIONAL at Timpanogos HS in Orem, UT – Cokeville, Mountain View.

Mountain View girls took 20th place. Cokeville girls were tied for 21st.

Cokeville's Addison Barnes was 3rd in the high jump and 5th in both hurdle races. Addison Hickey of Mountain View took 2nd in the shot put and was 6th in the discus.

NIWOT INVITATIONAL at Niwot, CO – Cheyenne Central.

Central girls tied for 12th with 18 team points. The boys finished tied for 14th with 11 points. Central's girls won the 4x800 relay. Tegan Krause won the boys' 400 meters.

UVU HIGH SCHOOL INVITATIONAL at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT – Evanston, Star Valley.

Evanston's girls placed 3rd with 69 team points. The Evanston boys took 3rd place with 108 points. Star Valley boys were 5th with 40 points.

Ayden Hartzell of Evanston won the 200 & 400 meters. Paul Baxter won the 1600 meters. Habtamu Wetzel and Sullivan Wilson of Star Valley went 1-2 in the 3200 meters. Evanston won the boys' 4x400 relay.
