The 2025 high school outdoor track and field season started last week across Wyoming. That means impacts from the spring weather, right? Here were the first track meets of the season. Not every school competed over the opening weekend. A few schools went out of state for competitions.

Here was the Week 1 schedule.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21:

Out-of-State events:

MALAD INVITATIONAL at Malad, ID – Star Valley

Star Valley swept the team titles at the event. The girls won 5 events and the boys won 6.

FRIDAY, MARCH 21:

KW QUAD at Kelly Walsh HS in Casper – Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Midwest, Natrona County.

Girls Team Scores = Natrona County 148, Kelly Walsh 121, Glenrock 7, Midwest 4.

Boys Team Scores = Natrona County 143.5, Kelly Walsh 109.5, Midwest 20, Glenrock 17.

SATURDAY, MARCH 22:

WIND RIVER ICEBREAKER at Wind River HS in Pavillion – Big Piney, Burlington, Dubois, Encampment, Ft. Washakie, Jackson, Kaycee, Kemmerer, Lander, Pinedale, Riverside, Saratoga, Shoshoni, Wind River.

Girls Team Scores = Lander 114, Big Piney 90, Jackson 87, Kemmerer 67, Pinedale 60, Riverside 43, Burlington 33, Shoshoni 27, Encampment 26, Wind River 23, Saratoga 18, Kaycee 14, Dubois 2.

Boys Team Scores = Lander 134, Big Piney 95.50, Kemmerer 85, Jackson 83, Saratoga 58, Burlington 54, Pinedale 47.50, Wind River 40, Shoshoni 12, Riverside 7, Encampment 6, Dubois 5, Ft. Washakie 4, Kaycee 1.

Out-of-State events:

RUNNERS ROOST INVITATIONAL at Rocky Mountain HS in Fort Collins, CO – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South.

Cheyenne East took 5th, Cheyenne Central 6th, and Cheyenne South tied for 15th in the boys' division. For the girls, Central placed 4th, East was 14th, and South tied for 26th.

Individually, Derrick Murphy of East won the triple jump, and Brennan Lamm of East won the discus. Kalyanna Flores of Central won the 400-meters, and Holly Clement won the 300-meter hurdles.
