Olive Osmera Chose Eastern Wyoming For Volleyball And Basketball

Torrington senior Olive Osmera is staying at home and going to double her college commitment after signing with Eastern Wyoming Community College for volleyball and basketball. She was a three-year starter and four-year letter-winner in volleyball and a three-year starter and letter-winner in basketball for the Trailblazers. Osmera was a two-time all-state and all-conference selection by the volleyball coaches. She received all-conference honors in basketball in the 2024-25 season.

On the volleyball court, Olive helped THS to a 22-16 record during the 2024 season. The Blazers went 6-4 in the 3A East Conference and finished fourth. They took third at the 3A East Regional Tournament and qualified for the state tournament, where Torrington was 1-2. Osmera was second in the state last fall with 79 aces. She was second in the Southeast Quad with 290 kills last season. As a junior, Osmera was No. 1 in the 3A Southeast Quad with 292 kills in the 2023 season. Olive was a two-time team captain.

On the basketball court, Osmera helped the Blazers to a 15-10 overall record and an appearance at the 3A state tournament. Torrington was 9-1 and took second in the 3A East Conference. They also finished runner-up at the 3A East Regional Basketball Tournament. Osmera averaged 6.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. She led the Blazers with 2.1 steals per game in the 2024-25 season. In her junior year, Olive averaged 7.7 points, four rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Torrington was 14-12 in the 2023-24 season. They won the consolation trophy at the 3A basketball state tournament.

Osmera is a member of the National Honor Society. She serves on the Torrington High School Student Council and the WHSAA Student Advisory Council. Olive plans on majoring in physical education.

Eastern Wyoming College is in Torrington, WY. The Lancers compete in Region IX at the NJCAA Division I level.
