Rams Run It Back: Big Horn Secures Third Straight 2A Volleyball Crown [VIDEO]

Class 2A volleyball continued to be ruled by the Big Horn Rams in 2025. They won their third consecutive state championship in a four-set match against conference foe Sundance on November 8 in Casper. Big Horn prevailed by scores of 25-23, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-19. The Rams won the eighth volleyball title in school history.

Big Horn had three players who finished the match in double figures in kills. Hannah Clark led the way with 14, while Afton Cummins and Leah Phillips added 10 kills each. Clark registered a double-double with 21 digs. Cummins added three blocks at the net. Maui Orum finished with six blocks, and Teeka Baker and Maci Winterland added four each. Baker had 20 assists, and Phillips contributed four service aces. Ava Taylor provided three aces and 18 assists. Defensively, Lilly Thomas led the Rams with 22 digs.

WyoPreps visited with Clark and Cummins after some of the celebration. Clark said the loss at regionals to Sundance helped the Rams, and understanding they were considered favorites was a source of pride. Cummins said believing in themselves was a key, and so was communication on the court.

Big Horn concluded the 2025 season with a record of 30-9. All but two of those losses were to 3A or 4A opponents. Sundance finished the year with an overall record of 26-10.
