Kelly Walsh Storms Back to Claim 12th State Volleyball Title [VIDEO]
The Kelly Walsh Trojans repeated as the Class 4A volleyball state champs after a four-set victory over the Green River Wolves in the state title match on November 8 in Casper. The Trojans dropped the first set, but rallied and won the next three. The scores were 17-25, 25-9, 25-16, and 25-23. Kelly Walsh won its sixth crown in the last nine seasons and No. 12 in school history.

Three Trojans finished with double-doubles. Lilly Hudson led the charge with 16 kills and 19 digs. KW’s two setters also starred in the championship. Noa Hodgin dished out 25 assists and had 10 digs. Gia Ireland contributed seven kills, 21 assists, and 11 digs. Makieha Humphreys provided eight kills and 21 digs. The Trojans’ balanced attack also got eight kills from Emma Hagar and seven from Madyn Waring. Defensively, Kelly Walsh had three more key contributors. Breckyn Fagot led at the net with four blocks. Sedar Smith finished with 10 digs, and Jenee Cantrell added nine digs.

Two seniors are very happy about adding to the KW volleyball trophy case
WyoPreps spoke to seniors Madyn Waring and Makieha Humphreys about winning it all again, the key to the match after KW lost the first set, how their defensive prowess played a huge factor, and how they continued to add to the Trojans’ history on the volleyball court.
Kelly Walsh concluded the 2025 season with a record of 34-3. Green River finished at 26-6.
