Lovell Climbs the Mountain at Last, Defeats Cody in Dramatic Five-Set Final for 3A Crown [VIDEO]

The Lovell Bulldogs finally broke through. The fifth time was the charm. In a back-and-forth championship match that was filled with twists, turns, ups, downs, and everything in between, Lovell bested Cody in the 3A volleyball state championship match on November 8 in Casper. The scores were 26-28, 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, and 15-12. That gave the Bulldogs their first volleyball crown in 3A and first in 13 years. It marked only the third title in school history.

Ali Walker had 26 kills and 14 digs, and Avery Walker added 17 kills and 18 digs to lead Lovell to the state championship. Celeste Lindsay chipped in eight kills, eight digs, and 1.5 blocks. Kindle Collins had 27 digs on defense, and Macie Anderson contributed 29 assists and 11 digs.

WyoPreps caught up with senior Becca Nichols and junior Celeste Linsday, two of the more veteran players on a young Lovell team. They described what it took to win it all, how the team realized they could beat the Fillies after a couple of close calls, how energy was a key to their success, and more.

Lovell wrapped up the 2025 season at 27-6-2. Cody finished with a record of 35-3.
