One team returns to the top spot in the polls, and another has a new top team.

Gillette reclaims the top ranking in the 4A after winning the Casper Invitational. Kelly Walsh falls to 2nd, while the rest of the poll, see little change...Natrona, Central and Riverton. #3 Natrona is at #5 Riverton for an important conference game on Thursday. On Saturday, the top 3 ranked teams, along with Sheridan, will compete in the Wyoming-Montana Border War vs. 3 Billings teams and Bozeman.

The 3A poll should change next week...it's just that the polls closed before Tuesday's results came in. The big result was that #2 Douglas won on the road vs. #1 Rawlins, to grab first place in the 3A East. Jackson should be a solid #3 for now. #4 Star Valley has hit a skid, because they just picked up back to back losses vs. Jackson and Mountain View, who is tied for #5 with Powell. The Lady Panthers are scheduled to visit Jackson on Saturday...that is, if weather and roads cooperate.

The 2A rankings saw some moving around. Wright still holds the #1 spot, and they have a big one Friday at #3 Big Horn. Kemmerer holds at #2, while Lovell slips 1 spot to #4 after they lost last week at home vs. unranked Tongue River. Southeast is new to the rankings at #5.

The new #1 team in 1A is currently the hottest team in the state in more than one way. The Hulett Lady Red Devils have an undefeated record, and won the JV Gold bracket at the Casper Invitational last week...which is no small feat, beating 3 JV teams from 4A schools in the process. Little Snake River falls to #2. The rest of the poll is unchanged with Encampment, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, and Cokeville.
