Status Quo Rules: Only Thunder Basin and Sheridan Flip in This Week’s Volleyball Rankings

The latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Volleyball Poll, revealed on Wednesday, was the same old, same old. The one difference from last week was that Thunder Basin and Sheridan traded spots in Class 4A. The Bolts beat the Broncs in league play and moved up to fourth, while Sheridan slid to fifth. That was it. Volleyball fans shouldn’t be too surprised by the lack of movement in the polls because the top teams keep winning, and there were zero upsets last week. Even when two ranked teams played, the higher-rated one came out on top.

In 4A, Kelly Walsh was a unanimous pick for the top position for the first time this season. They retained the No. 1 spot for the fourth straight week. Cody also received all the first-place votes in 3A and kept the top position, where the Fillies have been all year. In 2A, Big Horn remained in first, and the Rams were only one vote shy of being a unanimous pick. Sundance widened its margin over Tongue River after a head-to-head victory last week. Finally, in 1A, Little Snake River kept the top spot, where the Rattlers have been since the second poll of the year. They earned 11 of the 12 first-place votes. Hulett was still at No. 4, but the Red Devils closed within six points of Southeast in the voting for third.

3 = Southeast

4 = Hulett

5 = Saratoga

Class 2A:

1 = Big Horn
