The Wyoming Coaches Association is excited to announce that Wednesday night they unanimously voted to approve the return of the Wyoming All-Star Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer games. Just like Volleyball and Basketball, these games will allow seniors one last time to showcase their talents on the field in Wyoming.

“I just felt it was long overdue that the soccer players, coaches and officials be recognized for their hard work and dedication to the game. I had the pleasure of playing in the soccer All-Star game in the Summer of 1994 and still have fond memories and lasting friendships from that experience.  When I took over the boy's

the soccer program at Campbell County High School 3 years ago I started asking around what had happened to the All-Star game and no one could give me an answer just that it had ended in the late Nineties. Hating to take no for an answer I made it a personal mission to see what I could do to restore this event. Having been involved with the game of soccer in this great state for almost 40 years, I knew I was going to have to reach out to the soccer community to make this happen. I started making some calls to see if there would be any interest or desire to make this happen and I was amazed at the support not only locally but around the State. I knew the WCA (Wyoming Coaches Association, who oversees the Basketball and Volleyball All-Star games) had tried getting something going in the past to no avail and when I contacted Mike Sauers the soccer rep for the WCA he jumped all over the opportunity and has been very instrumental in getting all the fine details are taken care of and a proposal put together for approval by the WCA board. Now it's just a matter of waiting to see what happens with the current situation around the Country and World. Let's hope it all passes over soon and we can get back to our normal lives and start enjoying things like the first Wyoming High School Soccer All-Star  games in over 20 years!” - Chris McMackin, Campbell County Boys Head Soccer Coach

The All-Star Soccer games are intended to recognize and honor outstanding graduating athletes who, throughout their high school athletic careers have demonstrated exceptional sportsmanlike attitudes as well as have quality character, integrity, and display good citizenship. The student/athlete selection is by invitation and at the complete discretion of the Wyoming Coaching Foundation Executive Board and the All-Star Soccer selection committee that is made up of 3A & 4A Soccer coaches.

The games will be played on June 27th in Gillette, with players and coaches reporting for All-Star activities and practices earlier in the week hosted by Gillette College. These dates were selected and approved as to not interfere with Wyoming Shrine Bowl or other WCA  All-Star games. These dates also allow players that have previously been selected to those All-Star games the opportunity to play in them as well. We want to add opportunities for student-athletes, officials and coaches to showcase their talent that is the result of years of hard work and dedication to the sport of soccer in Wyoming. We will follow the established Wyoming Coaches Association (WCA) & Wyoming Coaches Foundation (WCF) guidelines for coach and athlete selections to the teams. We will follow the established WCF code of conduct for our soccer players and coaches to also give their best effort at all times.
