The Worland boys basketball team took their show on the road on Thursday night to take on Lander. Worland was ranked #1 in 3A in our WyoPreps poll and Lander came in ranked 3rd. Worland took control right from the start thanks to a string of baskets from 6-2 senior Mack Page who finished the game with 27 points. He was a big load for Lander to deal with and Page had more than a few quality looks. Needless to say, he was terrific in the first half. Rudy Sanford is another senior player who knows exactly what he is doing and contributed 13 points in the Warriors 79-63 win. Worland ended up splitting their games over the weekend with a road loss to Rawlins on Saturday, so that was their first loss of the year after 11 straight wins.

Lander was led in scoring on Thursday night by Jonas Calvert with 20 and Dillan Hereford chipped in 19. The Tigers have a number of gifted players and earned a split on the weekend with a victory over Lovell on Saturday to improve to 8-1. The season still had a long way to go and Lander will be a factor in the championship race. But Worland does everything well and they're a good rebounding team, so that certainly gives them a big edge.

Take a look at some of the video from Thursday's action from Lander.
