Jimmy Dees of Powell Achieves 100th Win on the Wrestling Mat
Powell senior Jimmy Dees got his 100th career win on the wrestling mat at the recent Ron Thon Memorial Wrestling Tournament in Riverton. It helped Dees to the 215-pound title at the event and improve to 29-2 on the season with 28 pins. The senior won his first four matches at the Ron Thon by fall. In the finals, Dees pulled out an 8-7 decision over a foe from Riverton. It was his victory in the quarterfinals that helped Jimmy reach the milestone.
In his senior season, Dees also has first-place finishes at the Powell Invite and Lander Invite.
Dees placed sixth in the 195-pound division at last year’s 3A state championships. He was the 3A West Region champion. Dees was 39-12 last season. He took fourth place at 195 in 2022 and finished at 34-17.
Congratulations to Jimmy on this outstanding accomplishment.
