Wind River basketball player Wylie Shearer has decided on Dakota State-Bottineau in North Dakota as his next destination on his athletic journey.

This past season, Shearer earned all-state honors, as he averaged 17.9 points per game and 9 rebounds per game. He had a season-high 37 points against Shoshoni and 29 vs. Tongue River and Greybull. The Cougars were 16-10 and finished 4th at the 2A State Tournament. He shot 40% from the floor.

Shearer had 6 points in the Wyoming Coaches Association All-Star Game in Casper last month.

In the 2021-22 season, Shearer averaged 13 points and 6 rebounds earning all-state status as Wind River went 19-8.

Dakota State-Bottineau is a junior college that competes in the Mon-Dak Conference.
