When it comes to 3A girls' basketball, it's Douglas and then everyone else. The Bearcats won the State Championship in 2024 with a 54-33 win over Buffalo on Saturday in Casper. The Cats also won the title in 2023, 2022, 2021, 2019 and 2018. If Covid didn't cancel the 2020 State Tournament, they would have won that too.

Douglas went unbeaten this season and won their State Tournament games by an average of 24 points. The Bearcats were red hot in the 2nd half of the title game vs. Buffalo going 9-16 from the field and shot 42 from the floor for the game. They were led in scoring yet again by junior Lauren Olsen who threw in 26 points and was 12-16 from the free throw line. She is one of the most prolific scorers in the state, boys or girls, and came into the tournament averaging 23 points a contest. Molly Parker and Jilliyn Fertig had 11 each in the Buffalo game so this team has some perfect compliments for Olsen.

When you lose just 5 games over 4 years and win state titles over and over again, that spells dynasty. We caught up with Lauren Olsen and Molly Parker after the game on Saturday and they were certainly confident in their abilities.
