The Lovell Bulldogs led 3A Boys' basketball this season in scoring, defense, and rebounding and were second in the classification in shooting. No wonder they went 25-2 and won the 3A State Championship, outlasting Cody on Saturday in Casper 44-40. That 25-win total was the highest since 2013 when they won the 2A State Championship.

This was a gifted team offensively led by 6-6 Owen Walker who averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds per game. Matthew Newman threw in 12 per game while Kaeson Anderson averaged 11 per contest. In Saturday's title match, Walker was held to 5 points but Newman and Anderson combined for 23 while Davin Crosby and Jace Nicholls had 8 points apiece. Those five guys played the majority of the minutes on Saturday and they had plenty of energy from start to finish.

We talked with Anderson and Crosby after the game and there's nothing like that championship feeling.
