Douglas Girls Basketball Postgame Remarks
The senior class for the Douglas girls basketball team concluded their fabulous careers with another State Championship with a hard-earned 58-55 victory over Cody on Saturday at the Ford Center in Casper. The Bearcats lost just one game this season and rang up 27 wins. That's 7 State Titles in a row for this program which is the longest streak in girls' basketball in Wyoming.
Lauren Olsen of Douglas is in a league of her own as she is the all-time leading scorer in Wyoming Girls Basketball and led the way in the 2025 State Tournament. Olsen had 29 points in their Tournament games vs. Powell and Pinedale and 30 in the Championship game vs. Cody. She also sank 2 free throws with less than :02 to go to ice the game; going 7-11 from the line in the contest.
This not a one-woman team by any stretch as Jaden Meyer and Bailey Wright both averaged in double figures. Those contributions can't be overlooked along with the rest of the starters and the bench.
We had a chance to chat with Lauren Olsen and Jaden Meyer after Saturday's game and winning never gets old
