After a two-year absence from the 4A Girls State Tournament, Cheyenne Central put it all together to take the top of the podium in 2025. The Tribe cruised by defending 4A Champion Sheridan on Saturday in Casper 49-30 for their first State Championship since 2008. They finished the year at 25-2, which is their highest win total for a single season in the history of the program.

Central didn't have the greatest game when it came to offense, going 2-19 from the three-point line, but got a tremendous effort from Karson Tempel who threw in a game-high 22 points on 9-21 from the floor. The Tribe got a huge boost from Ava Newton who had 12 points, going 6-7 from the field. But Central's defense made it life very difficult for Sheridan as they were outscored 40-7 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined.

Sheridan was led in scoring by Kaylee Chase with 8 points while Ella Bilyeu and Avery McMullen each had 6. The Broncs were without the services of All-Star player Mesa Hanft who was out with an illness. Sheridan was 19-7 this season and qualified for the State Tournament in 4 of the last 5 years.
