It's a busy week four of the high school cross country season with four meets in-state.

Lander hosted a small meet Thursday, while Rawlins hosts Friday. Sheridan and Thermopolis will be hosting events on Saturday. There are teams that opted to go out-of-state for their weekend competition.

Thursday, Sept. 19: 

Lander Cross Country Invitational:

Lander swept their home meet. The girls' race was won by freshman Elena Jensen of Lyman, while Mountain View's Travis Harmon took the boys' title.

Friday, Sept. 20:

Rawlins Cross Country Invitational:

The Rawlins girls captured the team crown on their home course, while Kelly Walsh topped the boys' field. Sydney Thorvaldson won by nearly four minutes in the girls' 5K race, while Saratoga twin freshmen Grant and Grady Bartlett went 1-2 in the boys' race.

John Martin XC Invitational (Fort Collins, CO): Cheyenne Central, Laramie, Pine Bluffs attending

Cheyenne Central girls came in second place, while Laramie's girls were third, and Pine Bluffs took fifth. Mckell Brenchley was fourth for Central, while Abigail Whitman and Libby Berryhill of Laramie took fifth and sixth.

The Cheyenne Central boys were second, while Laramie was fourth and Pine Bluffs fifth. Central's Trevor Stephen was the runner-up with teammate Jacob Frentheway placed fifth.

Saturday, Sept. 21:

Bobcat Invite in Thermopolis:

The Worland girls and boys swept the team titles. The Warrior boys claimed the top five spots and recorded a perfect score of 15 to win the team title. Mckenna Bomengen of Thermopolis won the girl's 5K run by over a minute. Worland's Caleb Fraser won the individual crown on the boys' side by six seconds.

Michelle Ludwig Invitational in Sheridan:

The Natrona County girls and Sheridan boys won the team titles. The top individual girls' finisher was Ella Kessner of Sheridan. She came in second place. Mason Henry of Natrona County won the boys' varsity division.

Bob Firman Invitational (Eagle, ID): Jackson, Rock Springs, Star Valley attending

Jackson's Muriel Jones won the Girls' Varsity Division 1 Section 1 A-L in 18:53.8. Sienna Taylor and Parker Smith took fifth and seventh, respectively.

Star Valley's Peter Visser was second in the Boys' Elite Division.
