Wyoming High School Cross Country Scoreboard for Sept. 4-5, 2026

Week 2 of the Wyoming High School cross country season features two meets in the state. Several teams will scatter to invites around the region. The largest event in the Cowboy State will be the state course preview meet in Cheyenne. Friday’s Wyoming Invitational will give runners and teams a chance to race on the same course that will host the state championships in late October. Buffalo holds a medium-sized race on Friday, as well. Teams will also compete in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Utah.

WYOPREPS WEEK 2 HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULE 2026

This is the Week 2 cross country schedule. All schedules are subject to change.

Friday, Sept. 4:

Buffalo XC Invitational at Buffalo City Park – Arapaho Charter, Buffalo, Burlington, Casper Christian, Lander, Lovell, Moorcroft, Powell, Tongue River, Worland.

Ellie Farris from Buffalo won on her home course by 24 seconds. Powell took the girls' team title. Kellen Winters from Burlington topped the boys' field by 24 seconds. Buffalo finished 1st in the boys' team standings.

Wyoming Invitational at Little America G.C. in Cheyenne – Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Glenrock, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock River, Saratoga, Thermopolis, Wheatland, Wyoming Indian; Out-of-state teams: Liberty Common (CO), Platte Valley (CO), Roosevelt (CO), Windsor (CO).

Alexis Teschendorf from Natrona County took 1st place in the girls' race. David Roberts from Roosevelt HS in Johnstown, CO, won the boys' division.  The Kelly Walsh girls and Roosevelt boys topped the team standings. 

Out-of-State Events:

Gering Invite in Gering, NE – Lusk, Torrington.

Maci Lyons from Lusk placed 5th in the girls' division. In the boys' race, Cole Tregemba finished 8th.

Hardin XC Invite at Crow Agency, MT – Rocky Mountain.

Northern Hills Invitational Cross Country Meet in Spearfish, SD – Hulett, Newcastle, Sheridan, Sundance, Thunder Basin, Wright.

Jaelyn Rubal from Sheridan took 2nd in the girls' division. Sheridan won the girls' team title. Thunder Basin was 2nd. On the boys' side, Eli Balkenbush and Joseph Gonda went 1-2. The Broncs won the team crown, and Thunder Basin was 3rd.

Run BXC Invitational in Bozeman, MT – Cody.

Raina Wachob led 5 Fillies runners in the top 12 with a 5th-place finish. Cody won the girls' team title. Noah Kingston was 6th for the boys. The Broncs came in 4th as a team.

Timpanogos Invitational in Orem, UT – Jackson.

The Broncs were 22nd in the boys' team standings and 34th in the girls'.

Saturday, Sept. 5:

Out-of-State Events:

Cardinal Classic in Soda Springs, ID – Evanston, Lyman, Mountain View, Rock Springs, Star Valley.

Star Valley was second in the girls' team standings. Kellsie Dunn was the top WY runner in 10th place, individually. The Braves were 4th in the boys' team standings. Colt Madsen from Mountain View was the best WY runner. He finished 9th.

Liberty Bell Invitational in Littleton, CO – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South.

Adalyn Racines was 4th in the girls' sweepstakes race (top division) to lead the Wyoming runners. Cal Bibbey was 17th in the boys' sweepstakes race.
