Sheridan was a powerhouse in girls basketball with 16 straight winning seasons from 2001-2016. That included a 4A State Championship in 2007 and on the other hand, the Broncs had some lean years with 5 straight losing campaigns from 2017-21. They did finish 3rd at the State Tournament in 2021 and now have put it all together. Sheridan beat rival Campbell County 65-56 on Saturday in Casper to take home the 4A championship hardware.

Sheridan lost the Campbell County 3 times prior to the State Championship game and turned in one of the finest shooting performances in recent memory in a title contest on Saturday night. The Broncs were 10-16 from the 3-point line and shot 50% from the floor in the first half and a white-hot 66% in the 2nd half.

The team got contributions from multiple players as Avery McMullen led the way with 17 points and made 5, 3-pointers. Senior Alli Ligocki had 15 points with senior Addie Pendergast went 7-11 from the free-throw line. Sheridan's leading scorer this season was freshman Mesa Hanft who threw in 18 points per game and she had 10 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday vs. the Camels.

The Broncs played their best when they needed it most and we caught up with Alli Ligocki and Mesa Hanft after their win over Campbell County. They were having a pretty good night!
