The Southeast girls basketball team showed a lot of grit and determination en route to the 1A State Championship over the weekend in Casper. The Cyclones won the East Regional Tournament and were the #3 seed in that event, then reeled off 3 more wins at the State Tournament. Southeast capped their season with a 36-29 win over Cokeville and they trailed by as many as 10 in the contest. This team finished the year with 7 wins in a row with an overall record of 19-10.

The Cyclones didn't exactly have a high-powered offense but they played intense defense, so nothing was a given for the opposing team. Southeast did not have a single player average in double-figures so it was a sum of the parts that made this work. They had one returning All-State player from last year's State Championship team, that being Kaycee Kosmicki who led the team in scoring, averaging 7 points a game and was ferocious on defense.

We talked with Kosmicki and Brylie Booth about their championship run this season, and a hard-earned victory over Cokeville on Saturday in Casper
