Torrington basketball player Teryn Stokes has made a name for herself with hard work on the backboards and will move on to the college level at Chadron State in Nebraska. Stokes in her sophomore year with the Blazers led 3A in rebounding as she averaged 10.5 boards per game and 8 points per contest. Those stats earned her All-Conference honors and had a 17 rebound game vs. Burns and 15 caroms vs. Powell and Rawlins

The 5-9 center/power forward was the 2nd leading rebounder in 3A Girls' play in her junior season, averaging 10.1 per game and 8.4 points per contest. She had a pair of 16 rebound games vs. Wheatland and Rawlins and was an All-State selection in 2024.

Stokes was a 3A All-State pick in her senior season well, averaging 7.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, and that 8.5 mark ranked 3rd in 3A. She pulled down 14 and 13 rebounds in two games vs. Wheatland in the 2024-25 season. She also played volleyball for the Blazers as well.

Chadron State is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
