It’s the second weekend of the new indoor track season, and three meets around the region feature Wyoming teams in the competition.

The meets on the schedule include two that are in-state in Cheyenne and Gillette. Some athletes will compete in Provo, UT.

Friday, Jan. 21:

BYU High School Indoor Invitational from Smith Fieldhouse in Provo, UT

Friday = 3:30 p.m. – 2-mile race; 5 p.m. – Field Events (shot put, weight throw, pole vault, high jump, long jump)

Athletes from Cheyenne Central, Evanston, & Mountain View High Schools in Wyoming competed on Friday. The top finishes were Payton Vernon from Evanston, who was fourth in the boys' shot put, and Jason Frentheway of Central, who placed sixth in the boys' 2-mile race.

Saturday, Jan. 22:

Saturday = 7 a.m. – 1-mile, 60m hurdles trials, 60m dash trials, 400m, 60m hurdle finals, 60m dash finals, 800m, 200m, 4x1 lap relay

Campbell County Invite from the Campbell County Recreation Center Fieldhouse: Field Events start at 10 a.m. & Track Events start at 11 a.m.

Teams Attending: Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Douglas, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Lovell, Natrona County, Rawlins, Riverton, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Worland

Campbell County's Sydalee Brown wins the 55 and 200-meters for the 2nd straight meet. She also won the triple jump.

Campbell County's Remar Pitter wins the 200 meters and long jump. Sheridan's Austin Akers sweeps the 800 and 1600 meters.

No team scores were provided.

Kevin Salverson Memorial Indoor Track & Field Meet from Cheyenne Central HS Fieldhouse: Field Events start at 10 a.m. (long jump for local athletes at 8:30 a.m.) & Track Events start at 11 a.m. (800m at 10 a.m.)

Teams Attending: Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Rock Springs, Torrington, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy

Torrington's Jordan Stoddard (Southeast HS) won the high jump and long jump for the second straight indoor track weekend.

Central's Shawn Basart win the 55-meter hurdles and high jump.

Cheyenne Central won both team titles.
