PhotoFest! Campbell County Vs. Thunder Basin Softball

The two best teams in girls' softball met on Thursday in Gillette as #1 Thunder Basin took on #2 Campbell County, In the first game of the doubleheader, Campbell County came out with an 11-7 win thanks to 6 runs in the 6th inning. Avery Gray of the Camels who is a 3-time All-State player had 3 hits and 2 runs batted in and Thunder Basin was led by 2-time All-State player Macie Selfors who hit 2 home runs.

In the nightcap, Thunder Basin prevailed 14-5 to the split the twin bill as Selfors had 2 hits and 3 RBIs with Madlyn Means contributing 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Last season, Thunder Basin won the State Championship and currently is 14-4 on the year. Campbell County had a nice run through the 2023 State Tournament and sits at 14-5 after a pair of wins over Wheatland on Monday.
