PhotoFest! Eastside Round Robin Softball Tournament
The softball season is progressing quickly, with the State Tournament in Cheyenne on the horizon at the end of the month. Over the weekend, 8 teams from the East played a non-quad round robin tournament in Wheatland and Torrington. It was a great opportunity to get out there and compete with each team playing 4 games.
Campbell County turned in a solid weekend with four wins in this event. The Camels came into the tournament ranked 4th in our WyoPreps poll and beat #2 Cheyenne East, #3 Wheatland, #5 Cheyenne Central, as well as Torrington. Campbell County is 22-4 on the year. #1 Thunder Basin lost 3 of 4 over the weekend, so the Bolts sit at 17-5.
Cheyenne East won 3 out of 4 with wins over Sheridan, Worland, and Thunder Basin, so the T-Birds have won 18 of 20 games so far this season. Wheatland and Sheridan won 2, lost one, and tied one, so they are 16-6-1 and 13-8-2 respectively. Cheyenne Central won a pair of games and lost a pair of games, so the Tribe is 16-7. Torrington went 0-4 for the weekend and dropped to 5-17, and Worland was 1-3, so the Warriors are 3-20.
We have a few photos to pass along from Tony Montoya from the Wheatland-Sheridan game, as well as the Wheatland-Campbell County match-up. You can find them in our gallery below. Enjoy!
