Softball at the high school level finally had some games last week. Ten of them.

Now, it’s onto Week 3 of the season. All seven teams from the West Conference have yet to play a game, so we’ll see if some of them actually get to play.

With some schools on Spring Break, a few teams will not play this week.

TUESDAY, MARCH 28

Final Score: Rock Springs 20 Green River 19 (non-conference game) - Wolves led 10-0. The Tigers scored 17 straight runs. GR got back within 1 on two occasions, but RS holds on. The teams combined for 30 hits, incl. 15 Xtra-base hits - 4 of them HRs.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 29

Final Score: #4 Laramie 23 Cheyenne South 1 (conference game) - Pacheco allowed 1 run on 2 hits with 8Ks in the win. Gomez led the offense with 4 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: #4 Laramie 26 Cheyenne South 2 - Kuhn gave up 2 runs on 5 hits with 8Ks. She helped herself with 2 hits & 3 RBIs at the plate.

THURSDAY, MARCH 29

Final Score: Wheatland 4 #3 Campbell County 3 (conference game) - Mickelson had the GW RBI-1B in the 7th for the Bulldogs.

Final Score: #3 Campbell County 13 Wheatland 5 - Camels held a 4-2 lead and broke it open with 7 runs in the 3rd inning.

FRIDAY, MARCH 31

Cody at Worland - postponed; the make-up date is TBD

SATURDAY, APRIL 1

Final Score: #5 Cheyenne Central 4 #4 Laramie 3 (conference game) - Thomas with a 2-run HR and Moyte with a solo HR for the Indians. Hinz had 18 Ks with 8 walks for Central in the circle.

Final Score: #5 Cheyenne Central 7 #4 Laramie 5 - 2-run HR by Thomas in the 4th inning was the difference for Central. Birt also homered and drove in 3 for the Indians.

Final Score: #2 Thunder Basin 15 Wheatland 12 (conference game) - Bulldogs rallied with 7 runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie it at 11-11. Bolts scored 4 in the top of the 8th for the victory. O'Loughlin had 4 hits & 5 RBIs for Thunder Basin. Partlow added 3 hits & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: #2 Thunder Basin 21 Wheatland 3 - Wilkerson had 4 hits (HR) & 4 RBIs. Bolts pounded out 16 hits and had 19 RBIs. A 9-run 1st inning set the tone for Thunder Basin.
