The girl's softball season is underway, so you play as many games as you can while the weather allows it. Last Friday, Laramie traveled to Wheatland for a doubleheader, and in game #1, Wheatland rallied for a 12-11 win over Laramie, thanks to a double that drove in 2 runs from Ayden Coates to end the game. This was a super-competitive contest with 6 lead changes, with Laramie taking the lead in the top of the 7th on a home run by Amanda Kricken.

Wheatland won the night cap going away 19-7 and for the day. Camryn Mickelsen, a returning All-State player, hit a 3-run homer and a solo shot. Halle Mickelsen also had a 3-run homer, with Ayden Coates going yard, as well. So far in the young season, Wheatland is 6-1 and will host Cheyenne East on Friday and visit Cheyenne Central on Saturday. Laramie is 5-3 this season and will be on the road in Sweetwater County on Friday and Saturday to take on Rock Springs and Green River.
