Taliah Morris of Cheyenne East ended her prep career in track and field on a very high note at the State Meet in Casper over the weekend. It started on Thursday as she won the 4A Long Jump and set an overall record in the process at 20-8.50. Morris has won the 4A Long Jump four years in a row and only a handful of athletes have won a particular event 4 times in their career.

On Saturday, Morris won the 4A 100-meter dash in 11.93 but set the overall record in the preliminaries on Friday with a time of 11.68. She did set the 4A and overall record in the 200 Meters in 23.45. In between all of that, her 4x100 relay team took 2nd in 4A.

Morris has battled injuries in her career and has still managed to turn in elite times and distances. She shared some thoughts about the 2024 State Track Meet and the accomplishment level was astonishing.
