Now that the season has moved into October, some teams need to get it in gear, if they haven't already.

In the latest coaches/media polls, Cheyenne East is still the unanimous #1 team in 4A. The Lady Thunderbirds have the weekend off, in order to get ready for more conference business next week. Natrona moves up to #2 after an impressive performance at the Casper Invitational last week, going 5-1 in the process. Last week alone, the Fillies beat, Gillette, Green River and Kelly Walsh, who are now ranked 3, 4, and 5 respectively. NC and Gillette will be at Sheridan this weekend to take part in the WY vs. MT border war.

We've said it before...parity can found in Class 3A, which makes it difficult to determine which team really is #1. Despite botching a 2-0 lead and losing home to unranked Powell last week, Buffalo retains the top spot. Thursday night is 1 vs. 2, as the Lady Bison visit Worland. As for the rest of 3A, Jackson drops one spot to #3, while Rawlins and Star Valley climb into the rankings at #4 and #5.

The new 2A rankings saw a little bit of movement. Wright and Lyman are still #1 and #2, but Shoshoni is one vote behind the Lady Eagles at #3. Big Horn moves up to #4, and Wind River is back in the rankings at #5. Lyman visits WR on Saturday.

The 1A rankings will be interesting going into the upcoming weekend, even though they are unchanged from last week. Kaycee is still the unanimous #1, and visits #5 Upton on Thursday and hosts their invitational this weekend. The games of interest will be in the Southwest as unranked and defending champ Cokeville visits #4 Little Snake River and #2 Encampment, back-to-back. Lingle-Ft. Laramie maintains their #3 spot.
