With early and mid season tournament action slowing down, teams have a better idea as to where they stand, and so do the coaches and media in the first poll of the season.

Defending champ Cheyenne East is the unanimous #1 in the 4A rankings. Winning the Gillette Invite earlier this season was big boost for their cause. Now they get to enjoy the comforts of home in a 1 vs. 2 clash, when Gillette visits the Thunderdome. Meanwhile, Kelly Walsh and Natrona are ranked #3 and #4, after winning home games vs. #5 Evanston this past weekend.

The Rawlins Invitational shaped most of the 3A rankings, although there are still a few scores missing. Mountain View avenged last year's state championship loss to stake a claim to the #1 ranking, while Douglas is #2. The Lady Bearcats have a tough weekend ahead, opening Northeast conference play against #3 Worland and #4 Buffalo, back-to-back on the road. Rawlins rounds up the rankings at #5.

A lot of teams received votes in the first 2A rankings of the season. Most teams were at the Big Horn Invitational this past weekend, which like Rawlins, is missing some scores (hint hint). Defending champ Wright is on top, followed by Lyman, Big Horn, Greybull and Shoshoni. The latter 2 will be at the Thermopolis Invitational this weekend.

An undefeated start to the season has Kaycee on top of the 1A rankings and the other ranked teams look to be tough as well. Encampment occupies the #2 spot, Lingle-Ft. Laramie is #3, Little Snake River is #4 and defending champ Cokeville is #5.
