LFL Wrestler Nathan Fish Commits to Western Wyoming
Nathan Fish enjoyed a historic prep career in wrestling as he joined some elite company by winning four State Championships. Fish won 2 of those with Lingle-Fort Laramie and 2 with Lusk, so you don't see many wrestlers win state titles for a pair of schools. He will take his immense talent to the next level and compete for Western Wyoming College in Rock Springs this fall.
His winning ways on the mat began way back in 2022 when he wrestled for Lusk and won the 2A 113-pound championship with a win over Moorcroft's Brayden Terry in a grueling 4-3 battle. Fish finished the season with 47 wins and 5 losses. Fish won his 2nd State Championship for Lusk in 2023, beating Saratoga's Tuker Carricato in the 2A 120-pound final and won 41 of 43 matches in his sophomore season.
He moved over to Lingle-Fort Laramie in his junior season and promptly won his 3rd State Championship in 2A, with a win over Cannon Boren from Thermopolis at 120 pounds. He was 39-2 and capped his fabulous career with a State Title at 120 in 2A at the 2025 State Tournament, beating Haven Vrana of Upton. He's one of just 33 wrestlers to win 4 State Championships and went 40-3 in his senior year.
Fish also won the 120-pound class at the prestigious Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton earlier this year with a hard-earned 4-1 win over Hudson Baker of Rawlins. He placed 2nd at the Ron Thon in his junior year, losing to Pinedale's Ryan Nutt in the championship match.
Western Wyoming is one of the premier junior college wrestling programs in the country and placed 3rd at the NJCAA National Tournament in 2025
